Erin Lujan, LM, CPM
I’m Erin lujan, LM, and CPM. I’m a mother of two home-birthed little boys born in 2011 and 2015. Their births were extensions of what I already felt in my bones, birth is safe, and organic. I was fortunate enough to grow up hearing my own home birth story, and I knew this was the only option for me. I started self learning of physiological birth during the pregnancy of my first son and continued through a doula certification in 2016-2017. As I attended births, it expanded my knowledge and wonderment of the childbearing year and the sacred connection between the mother baby dyad. In 2018, I enrolled in midwifery School at The National College of Midwifery . I had the privilege of working under some of the best midwives in Southern California, and have attended over 100 births in various roles. I finished school in 2022, and received my CPM from NARM, and my license from the Medical Board of California. As a licensed midwife, I am required to stay current on NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and BLS (Basic Life Support). This makes us emergency responders, and equipped to handle emergencies in birth. I train with Baby’s Breath NRP, a holistic and community birth based approach to resuscitation. I continue learning with workshops, mentorship, and ongoing research.
I am honored to serve my community through midwifery, and blessed by each family that I help. It is my philosophy that birth is a spiritual event experienced by the body, is innately safe, and functions well on its own most of the time. I fully support parents in being not only involved in their child’s birth, but being the lead in the process. This includes making decisions in prenatal care, to catching their baby in birth. I am a helper.
