Hello I’m Heather and I live in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and we have two boys together. I’m holistic minded, a massage therapist (still practicing) and a Licensed Midwife. Birth work found me! I become a doula after my unnecessary cesarean with my eldest son. The experience left me feeling cheated and traumatized. I wanted to do something to not only help my healing but help other mothers to-be avoid the experience I had so I became a doula in 2003. However, after attending my first home birth a few years later I was completely amazed by how different a laboring woman was supported and cared for while walking the coals of labor. Not long after that I caught my nephew in a driveway and that’s when it hit me, I wanted to become a midwife! In 2013 I finally enrolled with The National College of Midwifery and started learning the art of Midwifery under Karen Baker. During that time after a few miscarriages I was blessed with an baby and was finally able to have a vaginal birth at home in my own bed surrounded by loved ones and my midwives. I believe that pregnancy and childbirth is a sacred season in a women’s life and how she is treated during that time leaves a huge imprint on the rest of their lives as well as their babies as well. Women should be able to make educated decisions about their care. To be treated with respect, kindness and patience. I enjoy working with families and watching them grow and seeing women realize their power in the midst of it all. I love to share my passion for birth and opening people up to the beauty of the process and not give into the fear that is usually attached to it. “Peace on earth begins with Birth”
