I believe pregnancy and birth is a profound experience, which carries significant meaning to the woman, her family, and the community around her. Midwifery care is holistic and continuous in nature, grounded in an understanding of the emotional, social, psychological, physical, cultural and spiritual experiences of women.
I am a wife and mother of two sweet boys. When I became pregnant with my first son, I had some knowledge of what a home birth consisted of and I knew it was the experience I wanted to have. The moment my baby boy was placed in my arms, I immediately fell involve, not only with becoming a mother but also midwifery. I enrolled in school not to long after and have been attending out-of-hospital births since 2013. I have finished my schooling and am now in the process to becoming licensed. Midwifery has changed my life, it is a passion I live for every single day. Being able to witness babies breathe life in for the first time, to support women blossoming into motherhood, and create long lasting relationships is the greatest job anyone could have.
